& Cranial Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a safe
therapy that is continually adapted and assessed to each patient during
each treatment. The osteopath uses his hands to assess the state and
mobility of your body’s tissues. These are the bones, joints, muscles,
ligaments, nerves and connective tissues. Osteopathic techniques are
designed to relieve local congestion by improving flexibility by a
combination of stretching, moving and manipulating the joints, thus
assisting the body to restore itself to the best possible function.
Osteopaths are concerned
with how well all the elements of the musculoskeletal system work together
and how well, or otherwise, the whole mechanism is adapted to the
patient's environment, whether it be at work or in the home. They diagnose
and identify the causes of dysfunction and then treat the problems that
occur due to wear-and-tear, poor posture, injury, stress, or disease to
name but a few. Using their hands they examine and treat, and may suggest
exercises or changes to lifestyle, all of which will is aimed at improving
the musculoskeletal system so that it and other systems can all function
well together.
